Legendary remixer and producer David Morales scores his first No. 1 onBillboard‘s Dance Club Songs chart (dated Oct. 3) in 10 years, and seventh overall, with “There Must Be Love” (2-1). Duet partner Janice Robinson tallies her first leader (after first charting with her 2006 house anthem “Dreamer”).
Morales tells Billboard exclusively of the achievement, “I am beyond words to have a No. 1 Billboard record. I always knew that we had written a very special song with a message but, in today’s climate of music, you just never know how well it would be received. We had a lot of pleasure in recording and the production of this record. All the singers, musicians and remixers that were involved in this project [made for] a blessing, being able to bring them all together for this.
“The result is a record that has touched many souls around the world. It’s important for people to know that … there must be love.”
