I wasn’t even born when the original tune was released. I happened to listen to it at a young age at a bar i was hanging in my hometown and the memory is that everyone dancing and having fun. Since then , i’ve been listening from time to time Manu Dibango albums that always put me in the right mood. That was about the original version. Turn the volume up and listen here.
As far as the remix i’ve heard recently released from Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP? Well, those Australian guys have made some great remixes the past 5 years , delivering a happiness in the air, making No.1 singles in many countries (it was the ‘We No Speak Americano’ remix they made that put them into the mainstream house scene).
Could this be a Summer No.1 single in UK and many European countries that are in the party mood this time of year? Well, it sure fits the occassion. Enjoy it here.
This tune could easily have a similar success to “How Gee” , as the use of a sax sample is the ‘catchy’ part of the tune.
