Our favorite Australians are back with a bang! “No Bad Memories” is the title of their latest album released on Modular Recordings. Of course we expected samples, lots of them! And the session on this album is full of sounds from our PCs, full of PC memes, sounds from another era, from the 90s, 2Ks, our first Windows, the other versions, blips, cracks, jingles, adverts and memory discs. The audio source spands in almost 3 decades of PC freaks and all that goes along with it.
This album is full of features and moreover you gotta listen to it as a whole, don’t expect long formed singles that last 4 or 5 minutes. I love that Lydia Kitto (Jungle, Loaded Honey) appears on “I Give Everything I Have 2 U” & “Final Credits” , Barry Can’t Swim is also here, Panda Bear, Erick The Architect, Jamie XX, Carly Simon, Ryoji Ikeda amongst many other artists.
The Avalanches are back and every album they release is a huge surprise for the whole electronic music scene. Enjoy!
There is also a mix that appeared on YouTube with the duo sitting in the back seat of a car, on the road, mixing on 2 decks some great tunes for our pleasure.
