It’s that time of year again! 2025 was a great year in Pop music. That is the main genre that hit the charts, we had great comebacks, promising new artists that we want to stick with them in the future and many many more. Too many viral hits, that took over the social media only for a few months, and this is the cultural phenomenon of the era we live in, like stars that shine bright and the next minute they just vanish from the horizon. It seems that most of TikTok viral hits last as long as their videos, 15 seconds. Nothing more. Not even proper songs, this platform gained too much popularity, but in my eyes? This platform goes for total decline within the next years. Too much nonsense and moreover the humour it seems to deliver, mainly fails upon the next swipe.

Also 2025 was the year that techno music took over most of the dance festivals. But, soulless techno, it doesn’t have main hits. House music didn’t have its’ best year, too many covers, too many looped remixes, we were just looking for authenticity, which in most genres (not only house) doesn’t exist. Let’s not talk about rock genre or hip hop and RnB, these genres didn’t deliver anything good this year apart from a few artists that have their bar set too high! Soul or I’d rather say Nu Soul music (RIP D’Angelo) had a great comeback, too many artists make great albums in general, not enough hits to hit the pop stardom, but the genre is one of the most creative in 2025.

Yes, Taylor Swift ruled the charts with “The Fate of Ophelia”, Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” delivered some magic for her live shows, KPop Demon Hunters was a real phenomenon, Ed Sheeran got as to PLAY loud his album and also APT from Rose & Bruno Mars was playing all year long accross the worldwide FM airwaves.

2025 was also the year that Kendrick Lamar delivered a supershow on Super Bowl halftime (to be discussed for many years) and “Luther” is definitely one of the greatest RnB duets of the year. And then we have the artistry of Tyler, The Creator in hip hop. Teddy Swims really held strong throughout the year with “Lose Control” (the world can’t get over this ballad) and his other great Pop hits, Olivia Dean on the other hand is one of the biggest surprises on the rise, on both sides of Atlantic Ocean.

Who POPped this year? Calvin Harris (Blessings, what a banger for the summer!), Tate McRae, Sombr, Benson Boone, Leon Thomas, Damiano David just to name a few. And just before the year ends we had Rosalia who left us all starstruck with the release of “Berghain”, one of the biggest surprises of the year!

Well…. 2025 was great for POP and that is why this playlist is named: GREATEST POP HITS 2025 .

I loved it, hope you do too… Play it loud and share it with your friends. These are the biggest bangers of Pop.
