The collaboration between The Weeknd and Daft Punk was something that nobody expected to happen. It’s like French electronica meets US groovy vocals or the opposite. But Daft Punk (as producers) where always in the groove, in the phat basslines, in the glitter disco vibes of of this era. Moreover The Weeknd was always experimenting with different sounds (if you ever listen to his pre-‘Earned it’ tunes) and it’s proven really well, just by listening to the whole album ‘Starboy’.
