Madonna has returned to conquer the year and all of our lives. When the Queen of Pop decides to drop a new single and album (in summer) we stop whatever we do and listen. And of course watch the high marketing behind it. Because it’s a perfect scheduled comeback in the music industry and from the one that built all the standards the last 4 decades.
“I Feel So Free” is the ‘now’ culture in music. Yes, it may sound a bit like “French Kiss” or “I Feel Love” but it’s 100% Madonna sound. It’s electronica at its’ best form while mainstream. If you’ve listened closely to ‘ Confessions On A Dancefloor’, 20 years ago, this is the sound. And now we’re getting a part II. That means, Dance motherfuckers. The simplest form of expression and the best way to let go of everything that bothers us nowadays.
Madonna uses the best connections and platforms in art that form what’s happening now. And through her music, there’s a lot to tell and a lot to be everywhere on social media. She started dropping the cover of her new album. Next day, she promoted the upcoming vinyl, cd, cassette on her store. Next day she played the new song on a web platform radio, every hour. Next day she appears as a guest on the most watched live show on earth, Coachella, next to the Pop princess Sabrina Carpenter. After hours she drops a visualiser for her new single. And boom! Who’s No.1 again and the whole world is discussing about? State of the art marketing, from the one and only.
“I Feel So Free” is a dance anthem for the festivals. Of course there are going to be remixes, she’s No.1 at releasing everything that the dance scene plays now. It might be Techno, it might be House. Genre doesn’t matter.
I’ve been following her steps in music since 1983. It’s continuous.
I’ve loved every minute of Confessions On A Dancefloor and really can’t wait to listen to what she has to say on part II. Cause apart from the music, there are some serious lyrics on her songs, if you pay attention.
Watching her dance at Anyma’s DJ set at Coachella, while playing a ‘No Good’ remix from Prodigy, is all of us on the dancefloor.
Don’t be judgemental on her, Madonna has always been that girl. She has always brought the underground to the mainstream, while having something important to speak about. And most importantly, she’s been a dancer since her birth.
We might be the last species on earth to watch a star shine so bright continuously, while alive. With all the changes made and AI altering everything we knew (personally I don’t follow AI , it is very pessimistic), future generations are not going to live eras like the ones we lived in and have lots to talk about. The future seems dystopic. We’d better enjoy now, we’d better live our lives out of our screens.
Celebrate Madonna’s comeback!
