June 1st! New month and the official intro for Summer 2018. Here’s 9 tunes to listen to, as it is ‘New Music Friday’ and some releases are sooooo great! They’re definitely on our summer 2018 playlist as we have new music from Lenny Kravitz, Gorillaz, Maroon 5, Leon Bridges, a collaboration of Royce da 5’9″ with Eminem, and moreover some great dance/house tunes and a huge surprise from Luaka Bop new releases that really made an impact!
The return of Lenny Kravitz features some Michael Jackson screams and we love it, but we also love that ‘Breezin’ feeling that George Benson brings on the new Gorillaz tune, which features Jack Black on the video on the guitar solo. Also Maroon 5 have made a worth watching video with many celebrities dancing along to their new pop single, but Cardi B featured again? Cardi is definitely the plus feature that will get as too bored at the end of the year, we’ll get sick of her appearances (already are!) and unfortunately till then, as the industry works this way, she’ll be everywhere. Well… it’s great to have summertime ahead and … YAY! it’s another New Music Friday.
If you’ll listen closely to some tracks below, you’ll realize the change that’s happening in dance music right now. The trend seems to be synth pop melodies over great groovy tracks, reminding us the underground dance scene of the 80s. Well, it’s all coming back.
