It’s always a pleasure to listen to new music , especially after summer. This year is tottally different, the clubs didn’t open, there wasn’t any special promotion in house or dance music. That makes 2020 more personal, more intimate and brings back sounds that we haven’t listened in a while. Yes, hits are made from viral videos on youtube, tiktok and Instagram, but they don’t mean much in today’s music industry, most of the songs that become hits through a night on social media, don’t really apply to future classics or tunes that we are going to remember and listen to, in a decade from now. On the Billboard 200 chart, Taylor Swift with ‘Folklore’, the release of a totally different album than the ones we used to listen from one of the greatest pop artists of the last decade, she remains on top for weeks and that is totally notable. The singles charts have been manipulated completely from viral tunes and it’s a headache trying to listen to all of them, as they sound completely the same. But… getting away from all the Cardi B noise and her fellow artists, we got some really interesting music here.

So… let’s come to New Music Friday. This week we got new releases from Bruce Springsteen (yes the boss is back with a tuuuuuune!!!) , Melody Gardot & Sting deliver an awesome after-summer loving tune, Janelle Monae gets political with a groove, we got London Grammar back and so delighted to listen to that heavenly voice of Hanna Reid, Of Monsters and Men release a perfect Autumn tune, Petit Biscuit and Fletcher deliver some really catchy pop tunes (and that makes me look after their future releases also, the sound is so interesting) and we got Ruel that releases a lovely catchy tune that i would like to play on the radio all day!

So here you are, in randon order, 8 tunes to listen to for New Music Friday.
