BRITS do it better! Those four new releases are the state of music right now and you should be playing them on repeat. Check them out.

Depeche Mode – Memento Mori

The 15th studio album from DM reveal the darkness and the artistry of the band that we’ve been listening to since early 80s. Dave Gahan and Martin Gore (rip Andy Fletcher) deliver an excellent ***** album, sounds like a musical with the lyrics being too deep (as they’ve always been) and the final outcome on your speakers just gets stuck in your brain playing it on repeat again and again. As Martin Gore said: “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”

My favourite album track is “Don’t Say You Love Me”

Jessie Ware – That! Feels! Good!

I’m in love with her music, her feel, her energy each and every time she decides to put out new music. Jessie Ware is the artist that all new artists should follow at this time. Being too busy with her family, she stays so true delivering the best music. Genius! “That! Feels! Good!” her new release, has its’ roots back in time. The vocals are awesome, the arrangement of background vocals is ‘out of this world’, the strings, the production, the band, everything. It just takes you on an endless happy trip and you should be playing this right now!

My favourite album track is “Begin Again”.

Everything But The Girl – Fuse

We’ve been waiting a long time for this! Yeap, since 1999. EBTG, Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn, hopefully decided to get in the studio again and deliver to the fans and all the new listeners, “Fuse”. This album is the perfect sequel. As electronic as it should be (Ben has some old & new sounds combined, sounds so future music) and Tracey’s vocals and lyrics reflect the human, the artist. Definitely waiting for a new tour, because YES we want EBTG on arenas to play ‘Fuse’ live and all their greatest hits.

My favourite album track is “Forever”.

Labrinth – Ends & Begins

I remember how Labrinth collaborated with Tinie Tempah on ‘Pass Out’ and all the energy that single had. Then there was Emeli Sande, LSD and coming to the present it’s the soundtrack of the TV series ‘Euphoria’. That man is a musician like no other, has a true vision and you get the whole point just by listening to his latest release “Ends & Begins”. It combines orchestral with R&B, but with a great electronic touch with samples and a great vocal arrangement on each track. Yeap, that is a surprise release that you should play on your headphones!

My favourite album track is “100 Miles An Hour”.
